HRT patches vs gel?

I have just seated on Everol patches. With this hot weather I am finding that the patches keep on peeling off. I have tried medical tape but this is coming off too. I am worried that the oestrogen is not being absorbed properly.
Is the gel more effective than the patches? We are off on holiday next week where there will be a lot of swimming and I really don't know how well the patches will hold. Is it worth asking my GP for the gel instead?

Gel will give you estrogen but you will need something else as the progestogen .

This could be Utrogestan, Norethisterone or the Mirena coil. Your GP may be familiar with these or not. So you will need a complete regime change.

Depending where you are in your cycle (assume you use the sort that gives a withdrawal bleed) you might have to add in the progestogen at the same time (as it would be with the patch.)

Other point- you can't get your arm/ leg wet for an hour after applying gel.

I've also been prescribed Provera which is the progesterone element which I take for two weeks a month.
Again a patch came off in the night. I just don't know where to stick them or how to keep them sticking.

AH, okay. Evorel comes as a sequi type and estrogen-only type.

I've heard some women use a hairdryer on a low setting to help them stick.

Are you applying them to clean, dry skin with no body lotion on it? Then leave it a few minutes and if you are getting dressed ensure your pants cover the patch.
