Peri symptoms, does anyone have experience?

Hi. I had a weird not-period halfway through my cycle, it was brownish spotting and discharge...
Went straight to gp and have had pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound and all seems normal.

The gynae who did the scan said she could see my period was due (by that time 7 days late) and it still hasn't appeared.
I feel unbearably pre menstrual, bloated, crying, even getting tummy cramps like my period is just coming... but nothing happens. It's now 15 days late. I feel like I'm going crazy with the symptoms.

Also having night sweats, going dizzy in the night and constantly waking up. I'm so fed up 😢😢😢

Could that brown spotting have been a period? Is this the normal way of things in peri??
I just want the damn thing to start, I feel most miserable and unwell.
Perhaps I should go back to GP?

Thanks for any words of wisdom.

It sounds like peri to me but I'm not a GP, I'd go back if I were you.

Sounds exactly like peri. There is loads online about peri so might be worth having a read. Can't see what your GP could offer now; they've done the right thing with the scan and you've had the all clear.

The only thing you can try is HRT which would help stop the sweats etc but if you are still quite young, you may find it won't override your cycles to start with and you may get irregular periods still for a while

How old are you?

If you are under 45 check your FSH cause your symptoms are typical for menopause. If you suffer because of your symptoms and for protecting your body from estrogen loss, I think that you will need hrt.

I'm 44 in a month... am I too young for all this?
