Bleeding after 6 months on Eleste

I hadn't had a period since last August & through winter got lots of perimenopausal symptoms so started Eleste Duo in Feb. Most symptoms much better on HRT....& no bleeding at all till nearly 2 weeks ago.....it's not heavy but it's not stopping. Is this normal?
(Sorry if TMI but BF doesn't like sex when I'm bleeding so I don't want this to go on forever.)
Also.....was doing really well at Slimming World till started HRT & now crave chocolate loads....does HRT affect that, or is it just in my head?

Forgot to say....I have mirena coil too.

Can you confirm- this is Elleste Duet? And you also have a Mirena?
Your dr has given you the wrong HRT.

If you have a Mirena and it's under 4 yrs old (licensed for that long as part of HRT) all you need is estrogen with it. You don't need HRT that has progestogen in it as well.

Elleste Duet is the type that gives you a monthly withdrawal bleed. Not all women get this- 25% don't. You probably didn't because you also have the Mirena which usually stops periods anyway.

The bleeding will be due to an imbalance of hormones.

You need to see your dr and explain- cos it sounds as if they don't know- that with the Mirena you only need estrogen (tablet, patches or gel) and not a sequential type of HRT.

Ah...not sure. I'm on hol so will check box when I get home. I have green pills & white ones...think that's duet.
Had my current mirena less than 3 years. Didn't bleed on it all till started losing weight last year...lost 10stones in 10 months last year...after first few stones went got monthly bleed till Sept. Have put 2 stones back on. Just rejoined SW to lose it.

It should have the name on the strip you have with you.
But in any case, if it's 2 different tablets, that's sequi. So you are on the wrong type. You don't need that extra progestogen.
It is slightly odd though because using extra progestogen ought to prevent bleeds, not bring them on. If it's just light spotting it could be atrophy of the womb lining - can be caused by too much progestogen with too little estrogen.

See your GP or rather see a different one who understands HRT!

Allgood I agree with Queen, I don’t think that you have the proper treatment. You only need Eleste Duo without mirena or mirena with only extra estrogen. Find a gyn who knows!
