HRT "survey" - When did your HRT start working? etc

Hi everyone on HRT, here are 3 questions:

  1. When did your HRT start working?
  2. For what symptoms did it help for
  3. What type of HRT are you using? I think this could be interesting for us who are just starting HRT. Thank you for answering Smile

1 Within a week (sequential regime so estrogen only for some time.)

2 Hot flushes, insomnia, burning, itchy vulva/ stinging when weeing (used vaginal estrogen too.)

3 Oestrogel and Utrogestan (started on Oestrogel and Norethisterone but changed as Utrogestan is supposedly safer.)

4 Am now into my 11th year on HRT.

I started to feel a relief almost immediately but I saw the full results after 5-6 months.
It helped with almost every meno symptom, aches, insomnia, insulin resistance, brain fog and tiredness. I also see a huge improvement at my skin. It looks brighter and with no wrinkles.
I tried livial, cyclo progynova and the last 7 months I am on Femoston 2/10.

Within two weeks all symptoms gone

Hot flushes, heart palpitations

Femoston (not sure that spelling is right). The continuous one.

It's fantastic. Staying on it til forever.

1 Within a week
2 Flushes and sweats, later - pelvic aches and pains, floppy boobs
3 Oestrogen patch 50 mcg+ and Utrogestan (micronised progesterone) used vaginally on long cycle
I am now into my 12th year of taking HRT and I'm in mid 60's

  1. Took about 2 weeks
  2. Stopped the constant flushing, made my thinking clearer, brought back my libido for a while.
  3. Used the first one for 5 years then it was discontinued. Been using Elleste duet 1 year. So, been on HRT 6 years, although GP (male) is trying to take it away from me. He got quite nasty when I began talking about the advantages of HRT.

Frank, Sometimes I feel due to the reactions of the most gyns that I take something forbidden or dangerous. I feel like that choosing to take hrt and not to suffer it is a wrong decision and it will harm me at the future.

For me it took 2 months. It helped me out of my depressive (bipolar) episode. So far my migraine is almost gone. I'm on 2 mg Progynova.
