I think my hair is falling out!

Is this yet another perimenopause symptom?!

For the past month I've felt my hair is getting thinner. I've always had a lot of hair, but lately it just looks ... less. My ponytail is thinner, and I'm worried I see a bit more scalp showing through (but I'm not sure).

I had blood tests a few months ago and my Ferratin was 35, and the other iron was 40. Could this be causing it?

I'm 47. What can I do? Thanks!

Mine too :( I've started taking Viviscal and after 3 months the texture of my hair is much better and I have baby hair growth along the hairline with much faster growth. I see more scalp than I used to though.

I'm using Roots shampoo and spray from Superdrug too - just throwing everything at at ;)

Viviscal is very expensive but I'm hoping that it'll make a difference eventually. My ferritin should hopefully be in the 40s now and was in the 20s not long ago - they do say it has to at least 50 for hair regrowth though.

PITA this menopause, isn't it?

Yes, it's a total PITA! Sorry to hear you're suffering too, but yay for your regrowth!

I'll look into that Vivi stuff.

Falling out or thinning hair is common during meno. It is due to loss of estrogen and collagen. Hrt helps but my hair isn’t so thick as before.
