Could it be early menopause

Hi, I just turned 43 and for the first time in my life (v regular cycle) my periods are 3 weeks overdue. Done 5 pregnancy tests all negative. I have seen gp who recommended I do another test in 1 week and blood test in 2 if needed. But could it be age related? Thank you

I think just having a random skipped period is quite common - I had something similar in my 30s. It could be the first sign of peri though - typically cycles shorten a little at first, but everyone's different. Might not be early menopause even if it is hormonal though as peri can last a long time. Good luck at the GP.

It could be perimenopause. I was 43. Only missed one period. My FSH has never dropped bow 30 since ladt year.

I’m 40 and have been experiencing weird cycles for the last year which I am assuming is Peri-menopausal stuff. So 3 weeks between cycles some months then missing periods other months. Plus spotting. Oh and worsening PMT.
The bloody joys.

Thanks everyone for your response. It's a weird feeling not knowing why Flowers

It depends on your FSH and your symptoms. If you start to have irregular periods or meno symptoms it is peri for sure.

Thank you. I will look into it. Still nothing so will see 🙂
