Is this it? Period AWOL after years of being regular

I'm usually bang on 28 days, but I was due 6 days ago and there's no sign of my period although I feel bloated in a pmt sort of way and bad tempered in a pmt way, plus have had vague crampy feeling.

Do they just stop like this? I'm 51 and a half. It feels a bit Big Bang ish, help! Thanks.

Too soon to say! Most women find their cycles become irregular, with ever-increasing gaps between them, or shorter cycles towards the end (I had a couple of 18 day cycles before I stopped completely.)
You can't know if they have stopped or are late. In peri your cycles are more irregular. It might be 2 weeks late, you might miss a month or many months before the next one...and this can carry on for a few years, though at 51 it's likely you will stop completely in a couple of years.

Possibly not. I completely missed one last year then was straight back to my 28 days
A few months ago I was nearly 2 weeks late, with horrible PMT, then back to normal.

My GP recommended B6, evening primrose and water tablets to help with the PMT.
