Any non medical ways of hurrying up a period?

I'm 44 and I think perimenopausal as periods can be 15-50 days apart.

The last few have been reasonably regular 28-32 days but I'm now on day 39 with no sign and I need my period to come and go before Friday 1st June as am going to the spa for the weekend!

I'm clutching at straws I know but does anyone have any of the old wives tale type things I could try to bring it on ?

I don't want to go to the doctor as it's a waste of their time.

I'm sure worrying it won't arrive is just delaying it Sad

I guess the traditional ways as taking a hot bath, avoiding stress, exercise, drinking chamomile or another relaxing herbal tea can help. The fact that you are perimenopausal maybe make things a bit more complicated. Hope it helps! :)

Running, any exercise that's aerobic always used to work....

Buy a pregnancy test. Nothing like wasting money to make you bleed! 🤣

KarmaStar · 23/05/2018 22:46

@AUNTIESTELLA 😂 very funny!

Mine have gone haywire too even at 41! I even did a pregnancy test this month as am nearly at 40 days since my last one which was negative and before that it was 14 days. It's very depressing! Anyway today I lifted a massive bag of gravel for the garden ( accidentally!!) didn't realise how heavy it was and AF arrived within the hour!

So strenuous activity seems to work!

A night on the booze always brought me on early!

If I ever want to mess about with my periods I just stop taking the pill and I’m pretty much guaranteed to come on within 48 hours. You’d obviously need to be on the pill for this to work though!

Try parsley tea. I would advice a pregnancy test beforehand.

Defo not pregnant. Had shingles and not felt up to any shenanigans since last period as still a bit worn down from that.

Ok, so I'll drink parsley tea (sounds disgusting!) and do some heavy lifting in some white jeans 😎

Name change fail 😊
Good thing we only talking about AF!
