I'm not going to do anything but I feel fucking atrocious. Swinging between desperate bleakness and raging anger. I have a hysterectomy in two weeks but cannot cope with the meantime. I have a pre op assessment today and then going back to the GP but is there anything I can do?! I'm not doing well and I want the feeling to go away.

I hope the pre op assessment and GP appointment helped today and that you told your GP how you feel. It sounds like you need professional help rather than someone on here telling you to get some rest, be good to yourself, etc.

The Samaritans and www.hystersisters.com/ might be able to help

Are you having hormonal treatment to shrink fibroids or similar? Friend of mine had an induced meno to shrink a huge fibroid before they removed it but left her womb.Depending on the reason for surgery, you need to ask how your own hormones will behave once it's over. (ie is there a plan for HRT?) Without knowing if your ovaries are being removed too or why, it's hard to advise, but your consultant should talk you through all of this. Good luck.
