52yrs, last real period April 2017 then nothing until February 2018 when I had the tiniest amount of spotting for 1 day. Other symptoms include some hair thinning, occasional daytime hot flush, but waking up several times during the night with hot flush. The night ones are non sweaty but prevent me from getting back to sleep. So any idea if I am peri menopausal or menopausal?

I think you need a full year of no periods b4 you get to call self menopausal. Main thing is to keep yourself functional & comfortable.

I wonder about this too - I don't count spotting as periods so I'd be saying I was menopausal in your situation. Sometimes I have spotting which would be easy to miss. A lot of people don't know when they exactly go through menopause because of using HRT or a Mirena, and for many women symptoms will be around for 2 years after your final period (yes, I know a minority of women can have flushes for decades before you know who posts!) so maybe just keep a note of what's going on and buy a cake on Feb 2019 :)
