Peri and pelvic pain/spotting

Hi All,
Thought that I would ask here first as I had some brilliant advice last time.
I’m 48 and almost certainly in peri. The issue that I’m currently facing is that I have started to have some mid-cycle spotting and am in pain (pelvic region) for around 3 weeks of every month.
My cycle seems to have shifted to 21 days now.
I’m a bit concerned about the pain as it’s quite intense and I’m also not sure whether I should be worried about the spotting too - it’s something that I’ve never experienced before.
I’ve booked a GP appointment, the earliest that I can get is the end of May.
My husband thinks I should try and get an earlier appointment, but I’m just not sure whether these are typical peri symptoms?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

I think it probably is fairly typical and the GP will maybe send you for an ultrasound just to check. I had similar pain on the right hand side early on and the GP sent me to A&E because of the possibility of appendicitis - had it again two years ago on the left hand side and I was sent for a non urgent ultrasound which found fibroids.

Mid cycle spotting is typical too, as is cycle shifting to 21 days. I've spotted now for a good fortnight - basically prepare for the unexpected in peri!

As for GP appointment, worth asking but don't panic. :)

Hi OP
How did you get on at the GP?
I have found myself in the same situation. Suddenly having a shorter cycle with lots of spotting and pain.
The pain is quite intense so I am wondering how urgent I should see my GP.
And if my symptoms are typical will he do much anyway.
