4 years of HRT now getting night sweats

I've been using Everol Conti patches for 4 years, started when I was 48.
They were like magic for me, I lost the gloom, awful hot flushes and palpitations within about 5 days.
But just recently I've been waking up in the night with awful hot sweats. It doesn't happen in the day as it did before I started HRT.
Any advice before I see my GP?

Perhaps you've experienced a further drop in your oestrogen levels and you need to change your HRT type or dosage. It’s considered that patches and gel have a better absorption than pills.

I think the same Emerald but I think my patches come in one strength only.
Maybe I could have gel too.

Wool duvets are great if the hrt doesn’t help. My sweats eventually mostly went.

It's not really possible to have gel and a patch because the progestogen in the patch is the right amount for that patch / estrogen dose. If you change to gel you would have to also use Utrogestan daily or have a mirena coil. You don't have to stick with conti (especially as you are still only 52 when some women are still having periods anyway.) You could get more flexibility on doses with a sequi patch but you would also have a withdrawal period each month and some women don't want that.
