Feeling absolutely dreadful & after DH mentioned my pessaries, I realised I have been feeling lousy on & off since I started using them. Anyone else suffer side effects with these? It’s mainly a crippling sicky tiredness, really horrible, and generally headachey.

How long have you used it? guess it's a coincidence and you could have a bug? Someone told me that the amount of estrogen absorbed in a year is the same as 1 HRT 1mg tablet. After you've used it for the first 2 weeks, hardly any is absorbed into the blood stream. Side effects I've heard of tend to be sore boobs etc and things that are linked to higher hormones. Def not what you are feeling.

Headaches can definitely be a side effect as can nausea and dizziness. No-one can say it's definitely not the cause of how you're feeling as we're all different and all react to things differently. Worth stopping taking it for a while and seeing what happens?

Hi, new to this. Have just been prescribed Vagifem any suggestions on when is the best time to insert it morning, lunch or night? How long did it take for you guys to kick in? Hopefully less than 8 weeks! 😉 any other tips? x SJ

SJ I use it at night, but unlike the estrogen creams you can use it at anytime of day.
I noticed improvement after 8 days but it was about 6 weeks for all the soreness to go.
I was prescribed 2x a day for the first two weeks as I was seen by meno specialist.

I noticed that someone on another forum (Menopause Matters) had posted about use of vaginal estrogen recently.

The upshot was that there is a drive to allow women to use it more often with a very snr expert saying 2 x a week is not enough and women ought to be advised that daily or 5 x a week is better if needed.

How long this will take to reach GPs is anyone's guess!
