Periods every 10 days? Possible menopause

I'm 46 and after years of 25 day cycles have had periods every 10 days for the last couple of months. I have a constant headache too. Am really tired (possibly anaemic?) I also feel irritable, I have to make an effort to be nice!! I have made a docs appointment to discuss this but wondered if anyone has experienced similar, or has any advice? I just don't feel myself!

It is common at peri but you need also a scan. It recommended to investigate an abnormal bleeding.

Thanks Emerald, I hadn't thought about a scan so I won't be so worried now if she says that's what I need! I've been dealing lots of old posts in this section which are helpful too.
Is it normal to have bloods done too?

Yes it’s normal but not absolutely accurate during peri. Your diagnosis will be based more on your symptoms.

Also 46 & my last three periods have been every 21 rather than 28 days. Up until now my periods have been regular like clockwork!

Also very tired, night sweats & occasionally 'the rage' Wink

Flicketyflack- no night sweats for me (yet!) but apart from that we sound similar. Have you been to the doctors? It’s the near constant bleeding I can’t cope with

Not gone to GP I have decided to see how it goes. I have been using pads instead of tampons so I can monitor.

I would rather not go down the route if tablets as I believe that this is just 'phase' of menopause and that they are then supposed to get lighter! I hope Wink

I think I will see how it goes and will not hesitate to make an appointment if it gets worse or I have had enough Hmm
