Bit confused! I went for a coil replacement today as it’s over 5 years since mine was put in to stop heavy bleeding. I am going through the menopause so have been using Evorel Conti Patches which are combination ones. The GP who spoke to me before today said to keep the coil in so the progesterone could protect my womb but the doctor I saw today said I am obviously getting progesterone from the patches. I left with my original coil still in as they are ok until age 55 if you have them put in after 45. I don’t need it for contraceptive purposes of course.
I’m confused because I could have had the coil removed today. Has anyone else got both a coil & patches?
