Hello, It would be great if someone could advise me pls...
I am 55 and have just got a prescription for femeston conti 0.5mg/2.5mg tablets...
I wanted to ask if I am mad to take this as I have been in my menopause since I was 42 and haven't had a period for 8 and half years now. I really don't want them coming back but my reasons for deciding on HRT now are because I want to feel more like a women. I have no sex drive, haven't for years! Split from my husband last year. (My choice as I now have 0 tollerance levels.) And after all this time I still get hot flushes, hot sweaty nights and forgetful to the point I believe I am going senile. I have made new friends whilst travelling recently and they advised me to go on it. I've always been sceptical about taking any medication and would rather get through this on my own. but how much longer do I have to wait for this to end?
Should I hang on a little longer or just take it? TIA

Well, the ‘estrogen window’ is the first 5-10 years after your meno, so I guess that you can still take estrogen to prevent long term consequences or symptoms of estrogen deficiency.
First of course you should talk to your gyn and if there are not any contradictions, I think you can take hrt. Hope it helps!
