Perimenopause?

I'm 47 and for the last few weeks I've been having hot flushes (some days very frequently- maybe 10 or so a day) plus night sweats. The flushes are followed by feeling very cold. I've no idea what going on with my periods as I'm on the mini pull and haven't bled for quite a while Even when I do , it's only for a day or 2.

Does this sound like the start of the menopause?

Its like the start of meno according your age. If symptoms will become more severe it is definitely meno. Stress and problems with thyroid can also cause hot flashes.
