Pilar cysts on scalp (and neck?)

Does anyone have these as a side effect? Are they due to HRT? Ow and ow again. Online it says they can only be removed under local if they're painful/irritating and will come back anyway so is it another put up and shut up situation?

Most the pics online are of men who have them! Just a general risk of middle age, I think. Some advice online about self treatment that can be effective.

I've tried warm compresses. There are only two stubborn buggers that are particularly unpleasant so I might watch and wait.

I'm going through induced menopause (am 33) so that's why I thought it might be a side effect rather than age, as they started 3 weeks after zoladex and estrogen.
