I have been having bad chest pains for last 30 minutes or so, just lying in bed. Was after eating but never had issues after eating before. Did have a stressful day as feeling ill very dizzy and fluish, same last 6 months but had to go to work. Could only manage a couple of hours then struggling not to faint on way back. Rested for a while though work emails coming in then got hit by terrible chest pains. Had ECG? 2 weeks ago fine after collapsing with infection so don't think its heart but is this normal and just a peri symptom. Going slightly breathless but mainly pain. Periods now 24 days apart. Don't really want to bother doctor as seeing them lots anyway but hospital specialists. Think my dizziness today is due to anaemia as its my period and I am bleeding a lot.

I hope you're feeling a little better now. Just to say, I had terrible chest pain when i was anaemic.

Thanks very much, feeling a bit better now. I will try and call my doctor in the week, this is stabbing in the dark a bit but I wonder if I have Lyme Disease. I had a oval red flat rash end August from rainforest then 3 weeks later got symptoms, everyone they give for Lyme and that occasionally goes to heart. I am running it past doctor who will no doubt dismiss it as crazy but I have been ill for 6 months now and was previously quite healthy.

I can feel the lady with the black silk nightie!!! Is she on hrt??? :) :)

FairiesVsPixies · 16/04/2018 09:59

Well the fact the dates fit in with the rash, and you were fine before that, it could be lyme disease. Definitely mention it to the GP

Thanks I am asking them today. I've had irregular bleeding for 4 years and was having the odd days dizziness in July but that bleeding has now been checked out. I've had the urine symptoms for 18 months. But in August I was pretty fit still, went kayaking, ziplining, long walks etc no issue whereas now I struggle to leave house, about once a month am well enough with help, and am in bed almost all the time. Started in September but getting worse. Doctors initially said no as I had other symptoms pre holiday but given the length of time I think its worth looking at. They have been more looking at cancer but saying expecting negative which so far it has been. Am mid 40s but seems extreme for peri menopause and doctors don't think it is but don't have a viable suggestion other than its lots of things together which could be but seems very odd. Anxiety also been suggested but its constant and normally with anxiety I have odd symptom like I might feel sick one morning then back to normal. Did anxiety test and scored me 12/21 so moderate.

I don't know what the 96 year old was on Emerald, if I spoke Greek I would have asked her as she seemed very healthy and determined for 96 😃

I am Greek and I think that I have a lot of common with her!!! She is definitely on hrt!!! :) ;)

Could have done with you to translate Emerald She kept talking away to me and the nurses in Greek and to herself. I just kept smiling and she seemed happy with that but the nurses were getting very annoyed and she was crying. I told them what I guessed was wrong and to help her but they moaned at me but then went. She was putting her black nightie on constantly and taking gown off and then they would put it on her, after about 100 times nurses gave in though they did take her coat and hide it as she kept trying to walk out. They came round taking orders for lunch and she said no I am going home when she wasn't 😂 Thankfully about 5 relatives appeared and I could explain to them especially as doctor hadn't been able to understand anything either. She said she was crying as no English. Told one her relatives off for standing at a window and laughing at her but he hadn't done that. I liked her determination.

One of the other old ladies there was really sweet but just kept talking about her dog. Doctor would come and she would say let me tell you about my dog first. I got shown about 200 pictures of dog. One of the Greek ladies relatives said she felt sorry for me in there but it was quite entertaining though think the nurses were about to walk out.

Get blood tests done for your oestrogen and cortisol levels. They won’t do them as part of a standard blood test so you may not have had them done. I had very similar symptoms to you down to the chest pains and anxiety and these were the things that were causing my issues. Things we so bad at one point that I felt I would have to check myself into a mental hospital as I was close to a near breakdown and felt unable to leave the house due to chest pains and anxiety. I now take daily steroids (it’s similar to Addison’s disease but it’s actually called just adrenal insufficiency) and I also take oestrogen replacements. I now feel like I’m getting my life back. You shouldn’t be feeling like this - especially not in your mid 40s you have your whole life ahead of you.

penguinsandpanda · 16/04/2018 17:29

Thanks very much Fairylea I will try to get those added to my blood tests, haven't had those just had FBC, thyroid, iron, calcium, blood sugar, kidney, liver, blood clotting / a heart one, couple of others can't remember but normal ones. Coming back normal apart from iron which was low but only borderline low and raised CE on kidney function which is now normal.

Blood pressure lowish. FSH and LH were just lost and not done. I do suspect low oestrogen as the fibroid took out had shrunk from large (at least 3 inches) to 2cms. I looked at the symptoms and some match but my skin has gone paler and no weight loss, gain or stable though don't weight myself regularly. When they take my temp I only seem to get low grade fever or normal like between 36.9 and 37.8. Its really weird and a few doctors are starting to act like I have imagined it all but I think there must be something, I have always had moderate anxiety but previously very fit and healthy, could swim 3 times a week, over 100 lengths some time until this started.

Hi Penguin! You make me laugh with the old lady!!! Love her! It is so important to treat old people with kindness and respect! They need it and we will, if we are lucky, reach their age too! :)
