Abdominal flutters - is this some new peri symptom I should add to the list?!

Stab in the dark but is this some new bizarre menopausal symptom? Has anyone else experienced this? It's like a popping, fluttering sensation in my lower right abdomen. Doesn't feel 'deep', it's almost under the skin (and fat). Not really near an ovary but I suppose it could be, moves from the side of my belly button down the way. Not painful just bloody annoying. I've had it a week. Dr Google suggests muscle twitches, bowel spasms, gas all the way to the usual life threatening culprits 🤭 Not pregnant! The only thing I'm doing differently is taking a Vogel menopause supplement with fermented soy. Diet, exercise etc is the same. I'm wondering if it's triggered some kind of hormonal activity.

Or just one more 'look what my body's doing now!' thing to add to the list! If you have any sinister theories pls don't comment 😆
Sigh.

Don't think it's the same thing, but I sometimes get a feeling in my stomach which is a bit like you get on a rollercoaster. Yours sounds different though. I think there are hundreds of symptoms, not just the 34 you always read about Confused

God there's no end to it. I've heard of that @ParisUSM, must be something to do with adrenaline. I get something similar in bed if I've overdone it with coffee during the day.

I've had the fluttering in my stomach since my first child was a baby. It feels exactly like the first fluttery feelings in pregnancy, but definitely isn't!
I usually just put it down to wind.

EllenRipley · 04/04/2018 14:23

It does! That's the only thing I can liken it to. I thought it was wind too but it's in exactly the same place every time, for days now. Maybe I have a very trapped fart.

Haha, the whole thing is a mystery. Good to have forums like this just to find others who have experienced the same thing. In real life anything other than hot flushes are often treated with scepticism

EllenRipley · 04/04/2018 15:12

So true. If men had the menopause there'd be a weekly TV run-down of newly discovered symptoms, like the football results.

I quite like the fluttering feeling as it’s like early pregnancy!

Entirely normal afaik.

EllenRipley · 05/04/2018 19:21

It's certainly not the most unpleasant feeling! Just more of a 'wtf IS that?!' 🤔

I've got that one. Feels like early baby movements, but in the wrong place. Mine is just below and right if my belly button.

EllenRipley · 11/04/2018 18:28

Exactly where mine was @pfrench. How bizarre. I stopped taking the natural menopause supplement and it went away! Curioser & curioser....
