Is this ok? Or wait for skin to heal or at least for it to not be open?

I used it on papercut like sore areas when my VA was at its worse and it was fine.
What have you been prescribed?

MaryBread · 02/04/2018 19:55

Hi I have estriol 0.1% and vagifem pessaries.

Have you just been prescribed them?

Went asked for vagifem a few months ago. That worked well for inside.
Was having soreness outside still though so asked for cream. Great improvement.
However for various reasons I haven't been able to keep up my regular dose of each for a couple of weeks and recent activity has caused what feels and looks like a slight split in the skin on inner labia. Ouchy!

I would do a two week reload of the Vagifem and try the cream on outside bits every other night, you could just rinse it off if it stings. It sounds like the skin has split because of thinning/dryness, you really need to try and keep the treatment regime up.

No stinging last night.
The initial reduction in discomfort really lulled me into a false feeling that, that was a problem solved. It's quite shocking how sensitive the tissue is to any drop in the regular topping up of oestrogen. Lesson learned.

I can’t afford to not keep my routine up, otherwise symptoms come back within a couple of days, I don’t risk it as I don’t want to go back to that sore, uncomfortable place that took me a year of battle to get out of because GP told me you couldn’t get VA in the peri stage.
Keep up your treatments and put repeats in early incase there is a supply problem.
