Horrendous PMT having skipped period, is it normal?

I am assuming I am perimenopausal, given that I've skipped the odd period, I'm the right age, and I've had various other symptoms. My period was due three weeks ago, and I've had three weeks of feeling like an emotional wreck. I always get really bad pmt for just a couple of days before my period arrives, so am I getting a month's worth of pmt because I've skipped one? If this is going to be a regular thing I will end up chucking myself off a bridge. Been in floods of tears every day, I hate everybody, I just feel shit.

Worsening pms is typical of peri-menopause - with mood swings and extreme fluctuations of hormones. The crying is par for the course - I cried loads - but this started happening before my cycle changed and before |I missed periods, so I had no idea why I kept crying. Are you having flushes and sweats at all? Have you thought about HRT or if you are still young the CCP to prevent mood swings. There really is no need to suffer. Menopause Matters website has lots of info about peri-menopause and HRT as does "menopausedoctor" (Louise Newson).

I’m not sure what I have is a flush as it’s not like friends have described with a rush of heat rising into the face/neck but I get very hot very suddenly (both at night and randomly in the day) it’s like my thermostat has broken. I’m 48...the pill never agreed with me (Gave me even worse mood swings!) I’ll have a look at the website, thanks 😊
