I’m mid-late thirties. I have a family history of early menopause in that my mother went through it in her very early forties. Not sure about my DGM as she had a hysterectomy before 40.
I have had significant mid cycle bleeding the prior two months. And yet, normal periods (for me, horrid, heavy ones, always have been). And then this month I got my period and the first 2 days were as normal- horrid, can’t-leave-the-house heavy, and then it petered out on day 3 completely. So just 2 days of full on bleeding to nothing. I am used to having full on 4-5 days of awful. And then 2-3 days after of manageable.
No other symptoms, just the odd bleeding.
Do I see a GP? What do you do? What would a GP check at this stage with my family history? Do they test your hormones or egg reserve? Or just tell you it’s likely or not?
We have suffered inexplained infertility - hence why I’ve not been on any BC to help with my awful periods for 15 years, and hope to maybe possibly have a second child. As I said I’m still several years from 40!
I know it’s not unheard of but I’m feeling very confused. Any thoughts gladly received...
