Smelly discharge at end of period (TMI -sorry!)

Perimenopausal & taking femeston 2/10 for the past year.
Periods have totally changed since starting hrt,bleed lasts 7 days (3-4 days before),missed a period in January,then had 2 close together.
Over the past few months at the end of my bleed I've had a smelly brownish discharge that lasts for about 4-5 days later,then disappears & no smelly discharge, everything goes back to normal.
Has anyone had anything similar? Do I need to see the GP about it?

How do you know that this isn't 'just' the tail end of your period?

What is your actual period like? Is it full on for 7 days or does it tail off after a few days? I'm just asking as sometimes if we've had light periods all our lives it can be a shock to see that with HRT some women have bleeds that are longer and heavier.

My bleeds on HRT last about 6 days with 2-3 days being fairly heavy then maybe another 2-3 days of brown blood which slowly peters out.

Is the Femoston 2mgs estrogen? If so that is a relatively high dose. I use 1,5mgs (gel) and the bleed I have with this is far heavier than my own periods in my 40s.

My period itself is very light but lasts for approximately 7 days then discharge at the end when the bleeding ends.
I did think it was the end of my actual period but have never had any smelly discharge before but I do realise that my body is changing & the hrt is changing that too.
I did the fatal mistake of googling it though & it made me doubt myself
I will mention it to my GP when I go for my hrt check next month.

I am not sure how you can see the difference between the end of a period and discharge. I have some slightly whiffy yellow discharge for about 3 days after the main blood loss but it's still part of the period. When blood breaks down and leaves the body it can smell- if it clears up for the rest of the month I don't think what you have is abnormal.

No, I don't see it as a problem. It is just something I haven't experienced before so was interested if anyone else had.
I agree it probably is the tail end of my period but as I have said it was new to me so was looking for others who had noticed a difference in their cycle.

I've had this for about 2 days at the end of my periods for the past year - it's a bit stinky. I'm mid 50's still regular but my cycle is a bit shorter. I thought it was just a consequence of getting nearer the menopause.
