Hello,
This is probably such a stupid question! But why do woman have the menopause, I get it that its when a woman stops producing eggs and is no longer fertile. I just don't get why is so awful on the body, mood swings, hot flushes to name a few. I suppose I wonder is it awful for everyone?

There's only so many eggs and when they're gone they're gone Smile
My peri menopause isn't too bad so far, been going through this for around 3 years or so.
It's a big change in hormone levels that you've had since puberty, takes a while for your body to adjust.

it's loss of estrogen. That's why replacing it with HRT gets rid of all those things.
