PMT in peri-menopause?

Hello. I'm 49 and my periods are slightly erratic but otherwise have not had too much trouble with menopausal symptoms so far. But I'm finding that before each period, the PMT symptoms are becoming unbearable. I feel very anxious, restless, depressed and tearful. I was like this as a teenager but have been more stable since. Does it make sense for this to be related to peri-menopause? That I'd get symptoms in a cycle? If you see what I mean. Thanks for any help. This is all slightly new to me!

It's well known (amongst medics) that PMS often gets worse in later life. Normal, crap but it happens. Sorry!

Perhaps it's just that then, I'll look into it, thanks!

I feel the same. Week or so before I'm like a crazy woman. It's starting to affect me at home and at work. I can't seem to control my mood and just fly off the handle at the slightest thing.
Is there anything that can help with this? I've started trying to do more exercise which helps a little but I still have days where I feel awful & just cry.

Sorry to hijack your post op!

No worries! I wish I could help. The only things I have found that do help are getting enough sleep (otherwise I'm basically a monster) and exercising, as you say.
