My last natural period was October 2016 but I took hrt briefly in the spring/ summer so had periods then - just three months. Last night I had pinkish discharge for the first time since. This morning too.

Is this normal?

Just panicking a bit because my mum started bleeding at 77 and it turned out she had cancer. I know this is very different but can't shake the thought ..

No, it's not normal and you must see your GP asap.

The periods you had on HRT were not periods as such but withdrawal bleeds .

So it's now 15 months since your own natural periods. If you are under 50 and had an early meno this may not be anything to worry about- periods can come back in younger women- but the rule is any bleeding after 12 months with no natural period, see your GP asap.

You will be sent for a pelvic scan within 2 weeks. It is probably hormonal but if your mum did have endometrial cancer, you need to get this checked out.

Good luck.
