Mirena coil

I was fitted with a Mirena coil last October after experiencing progressively heavier periods to the point where I couldn't use tampons, only thick night -time pads and the 'flooding' was ridiculous. My GP thought I am probably experiencing the menopause since I've been having hot flushes for a while now and the period issue had become worse. I will be 50 in October this year.

Initially all seemed well, I experienced almost continuous 'spotting' following the insertion but was told this would stop. It took a while but eventually it did, now I experience what I would describe as heavy spotting around the time when my period would have been due - enough to need a tampon/large pantyliner.

what I am more concerned about is that I have experienced what I can only describe as urine leaking - not having had this before the coil was fitted. Again, it is more or less continuous (ie every day) and I need to wear a panty liner because of it. It is enough for me to be aware of a 'dribble' when it happens and it would be visible through my trousers sometimes if I wasn't wearing a liner. I've gone from simply having v heavy periods which lasted for about a week to having to wear liners every day and feeling 'damp' all the time. I have researched a little and found there are issues with the MC causing incontinence Shock Has anyone else experienced this? I guess the only way to stop it would be to remove the coil and go back to the mega periods?? What do I do ? Feeling meh Sad
