Odd I know but when I'm due on the front of my neck and throat area feels 'big'. Anyone else get something like this?

Sorry I'm a bit late replying, but have you had your thyroid checked? I have a lump on my neck that changes size and after investigation (blood tests and ultrasounds) turns out my thyroid is borderline overactive.

Yes it could well be thyroid, it often goes out of whack at times of hormonal upheaval. Ask for a full thyroid function test (not just TSH, which is next to useless) and when you get the results ask for the normal reference ranges so that you can establish if you are well within normal or at the high/low end of normal, as this can make you feel wildly different.

When you have the results post them on here for experienced thyroid peeps to have a look and advise you, thyroid disease is woefully undertreated (it's mainly women who suffer with it) so don't let them fob you off. Good luck.

I'm having bloods taken on Friday to establish if I have thyroid issues. I'll post my results too!

Fab. Good luck with it. If it is a thyroid problem there’s lots of help and advice available, your GP is unlikely to know much! They’ll be all “take this one tablet a day and you’ll be fine” but it can be a bit more complex.

Do you have any symptoms like exhaustion, muscle fatigue, weight gain, weakness, memory loss/brain fog etc?

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 21/02/2018 19:20

Also dry skin and hair loss, although I guess with meno you may be experiencing some of those due to hormonal probs too. That’s another thing to check - make sure your sex hormones are all as they should be. Maybe discuss that when you get the results one way or the other?

I had bloods this week but I don't think it was a full thyroid check. I'll be back with the results
