Hi I’m a little confused and I should of listened better when speaking to doctor today!
I’ve just started using Ovestin due to pain but I was also given a estrogen blood test the results showed I was 72 (something) doctor said below 32(something) was normal and that they will repeat blood test again in 6 weeks to see if it changes!
Doc said I was probably peri menopausal or post menapausal I really should of listened better😫
I’m 49 anyone know which it could be TIA

I'm confused why you had a blood test for vaginal estrogen....

Blood tests are not needed for menopausal symptoms in women over 45 . NICE advice to GPs.

The 'rule' is to treat the symptoms.

Also, no readings are accurate if you use hormonal contraception (again, in the NICE guidelines. Do GPs know these exist?? )

Erm ok I can’t answer that ! I thought it was to see if I was menapausal or not 😳

So how do you tell if your going through the menopause when your on contraception?

You would know if you had symptoms like flushes, sweats, mood swings, weight gain and all the other peri symptoms. Being on the POP won't stop those happening.

I've had two recent FSH tests, Polly. One from GP, one from hospital consultant. I'm 56.

The results were 12 and 13. There were raised eyebrows.

Ok thanks 👍🏻 Only symptom I’ve had is soreness down below 😫 although my hubby would say I’m moody sometimes 😍
I’ll ask more questions next time
I think I am either going through or been through it but maybe not had a other strong symptoms
