Weird periods-feel strangely alone, help!

I'm 37, my cycle is still regular 28 days, but my periods have gone strange and unpredictable. I'm finding it strangely upsetting.

At the moment i'm on day 4 of my period, but it hasn't really got going. Lately it's been taking a bit longer from the initial show of blood for the heaviest flow to come on, but usually days 2-4 are quite heavy. This time I haven't had any bright red blood at all and my boobs haven't deflated in the usual way, which happens after the 1st day.

A few cycles ago I had a very heavy bleed on day 5 after it seemed to be drying up. I left work & went straight to nurse practitioner, she did pregnancy test as she thought I was having a miscarriage. She said it was unexplained, nothing to worry about, but go back if it hadn't stopped the next day.

Feeling a bit crap lately, like i have permanant low level water infection, headaches, nausea.

I had a scan of my ovaries a few months ago and everyting looked fine. My mum had a very late menopause, so I'm confused. Is this early menopause?

Hiya I'm having the opposite really. Keep having unexpected bleeds including after sex. V tired and moods all over the shop. Looked up peri menopause and can go on for ten years! Seeing de Monday. Hope u get answers.

Thanks for replying. Sorry to hear it's a bit shit for you too. Had a heavy bleed today (while I was playing hockey) looks like this period will be well over a week long. Ten years! I'll make a dr appoint to look into hormones or coil etc. Poor DH only recently had the snip. He may not have needed to.

i had heavy bleeds during peri. one day i got up, slipped my feet into slippers, stood up and looked down to see two pools of blood eminating from out my jamas onto the carpet. fun times.
