On HRT patches, should my period be week 1 of oestrogen only?

When should I have my period? It seems to change from time to time. Lately it is week 1 of the oestrogen only patches, and my PMT feelings don't seem to ease when I come on this early in the hrt cycle. Any advice would be really appreciated.

If you are still in peri menopause (that's having occasional periods) your own cycle will possibly override the HRT cycle.
