I have finally booked into see a dr next month. I will be 50 at the end of this month.
I still have pretty regular ( a couple of days variation) bleeds every month. No night/day sweats but I am always bloody exhausted and crabby. I don't sleep well. PMT is getting worse, this month I feel like I am going to explode, the emotion is so raw.
I am fed up of feeling shit.

sorry, had to quickly close page as I had a dc viewing over my shoulder.

I just want to feel like I am not walking round in a brain fog, like I actually have some energy to do something. The tiredness is crippling. I work in a job where i deal with very demanding children and they need me to have patience and be able to to be clear headed.
I am hoping the dr won't dismiss me because I still have regular periods.

Watching this with interest. I totally get you op CakeWineGin

Yes of course you can.

The emotional symptoms count as symptoms just as much as hot flushes etc.

Suggest reading the NICE menopause guidelines which give info on all meno symptoms and treatment.

I've linked to them dozens of times here if you use the advanced search box, or they are easily found via google.

Watching too. I recently went to the drs about this and she basically said tough shit Hmm i was already takung fluoxetine for pmt (which clearly isnt working) so she pyt be back on the pill. I haven't been on any birth control since dh had the snip and i don't really want to take it again. Also its the oestrogen only one which just makes me bleed constantly 🤤 i really dont know what to do. No help sorry 😶

I was getting random hormone crashes and waking up with massive joint aches that lasted 2 or 3 days, until the next time. I asked and no one asked about the periods which were about 3 weekly and totally inconsistent. I had previously been prescribed local oestrogen for vaginal problems.

Thank you
I have chosen a dr at our surgery who specialises in women's health/sexual health.
i will look up the nice guidelines.
I feel slightly anxious as i am so sensitive to medication that I can only tolerate paediatric doses of ssri's when I have had to take them.

Enough's enough really.
I feel like half a person and a bloody dangerous and crazy one at that Sad

There are a couple of Pills which are gentle on the system and have oestrogen in them that's the same as in HRT. They are called Qlaira or Zoely so these are a possibility instead of HRT if your periods are still pretty regular. If your oestrogen levels are becoming lower than a low dose HRT like femoston 1/10 may well help to prevent hormonal crashes each month. You could also ask for thyroid function/general blood tests at this stage too.
