HRT after hysterectomy

I had a hysterectomy 3 months ago, I kept my ovaries. I'm 48.

For the past 3/4 weeks I've been waking up 4/5 times a night with hot sweats/flushes. My nights seem to be a constant duvet off, duvet on cycle. I'm back to work tomorrow (teacher) and I know I'm going to feel shattered.

Other than a bit of memory loss and an odd flush during the day I don't really have any other symptoms and feel great after my operation.

Do I go and see my GP or wait for more symptoms appear?

Given that lack of sleep is going to affect your job I would go now as if you think you are going to be shattered at the beginning of a term the what are you going to be like at the end. Long term lack of sleep can contribute to depression.

Get HRT.
Ovaries can fail after a hyster. Sometimes really fast but usually within 2-3 years. Your poss early as you are nr meno age anyway.
Good news is you can use just estrogen which usually work s fast. Ask for Oestrogel . Brilliant stuff.

Ok I will need your advice and make an appointment. I have high blood pressure and asthma - both very well controlled.

I'm at a good weight and exercise regularly. Hoping the HRT does the trick
