Dysorgasmia - related to menopause?

Hi, I posted the following in General health this morning (not sure how to link the thread, but it has more info regarding my medical care so far), but have done some further internet searching today and hormones in relation to peri-menopause have come up a couple of times and I wondered if anyone on this board has experience of this?

I started getting pain just before and during orgasm earlier this year and it's very upsetting - the pain starts as the orgasm starts and is very painful and almost feels like the orgasm is 'blocked'!

Having Googled the problem, all I can gather from the (very minimal) pages I've seen is that is could be linked to menopause. I don't know. I suppose I'm just asking if anyone has experienced of this, and if so, did it get better and how? Any professional opinions on routes I might try? I'm seeing my Cons again in a few weeks and short of suggesting removal of the fibroids, I'm not sure what else to do. I really don't want any hormonal treatment due to years of depression on various pills.
