Peri symptom...sore boob?

I'm peri and I've noticed that all my pms symptoms have been heightened during this time. One in particular is the soreness I get in my boob when I about to come on. Does anyone else get this?

I had this too but it only lasted a few months. It was even painful to wear a bra but it was only breast. It was uncomfortable rather than pain. When period started it would feel better.

Mummytron · 17/08/2017 20:35

Was that a perimenopause thing for you? Or just a hormonal thing? I've had pain on and off for years but all my PMS symptoms are so much worse now

Not sure ... I am 44 and my periods have changed over the last year or so. They have slightly closer and much shorter ( 3 days only) . It wasn't so much pain but more uncomfortable and I would only get it before my period was due

Pixiedustaway · 18/08/2017 19:47

Gosh... I could have written this. My boobs are incredibly painful for up to 2 weeks before my period starts. they are really swollen also... I want to cry!!

starfishmummy · 18/08/2017 19:51

I had it for a few months, but then have sailed through with no other symptoms, so with hindsight it was just a niggle.

Pixiedustaway · 18/08/2017 20:24

Starfisummy that's amazing! did you take any supplements/vitamins?

eurochick · 18/08/2017 20:36

B vitamins and evening primrose might help, but it's worth getting checked out too.

starfishmummy · 20/08/2017 10:22

Sorry Pixiedust...only just seen this. No I didn't take anything.

Mummytron · 21/08/2017 17:45

Mine is more in one boob. Started taking evening primrose oil so hope that helps

Yes, noticed the sore boob and evening nausea first, then realised the aching joints and tiredness could be related! (I don't have periods so no signs there). Now on oestrogen gel and feeling great.

Mummytron · 21/08/2017 18:33

Is it normal to have it in one boob mostly?

OP posts:
lovechocolate123 · 21/08/2017 20:54

Neon- I had the nausea too... I wondered if it was all linked to perimenopause. Do you mind me asking how old you are? I am 44

NeonFlower · 21/08/2017 22:26

OP, mine was a bit more in one boob. It still is a bit sensitive. Is it worth a chat with your GP?

Hi @lovechocolate123 I am 45 - but I did have a partial hysterectomy at age 40, and I believe that 50% of people having that operation will go into meno within 5 years. I think age 51 is average otherwise. NICE guidelines do indicate that HRT is recommended for bone protection until age 51 at least if start menopause before 45 (and does not pose additional risks, according to current evidence, because your body would have been producing those hormones anyway). I have oestrogen only because of the hysterectomy, and I use a gel.

rightknockered · 24/08/2017 16:09

I had breast pain a week for months about a week before my period. Similar to pregnancy breast pain. I started on HRT and the pain has stopped.

Mummytron · 25/08/2017 09:18

Thanks all
I might see the GP yes but I really do think it's hormonal. They won't put me on hurt as I'm only 41 and my periods are still regular even though they are heavier and shorter in duration.
Think I'll stick with the Eveing Primrose Oil for now. Maybe a health kicks in order!! 😀
