Please tell me about taking bio-identicals (Studd regime)

I'm seeing someone soon at Prof Studd's menopause clinic. I'm hoping to be prescribed bio-identical hormones.

In your experience, how long might it take to have an effect? (Main symptoms are psychological not physical)

Also, can it help reverse perimenopausal weight gain? Have gained nearly a stone in recent months. I'm being strict with diet and exercise but I keep gaining.

Thank you

Bio identicals otherwise more correctly termed now as 'body identical licensed HRT' is available on the NHS.

There is a long blog on these on the Home page of Menopause Matters written by consultant gynae Dr Heather Currie (blogs are bottom of the page.)
