Hi everyone can someone please advise me

I started missing periods 6 years ago I am now 49 thought it was stress at first. 3 years ago my gp diagnosed me with bipolar put me on lithium then 9 months later said diagnosis was wrong it was a severe mid life crisis. Last year 2016 i was put on hrt estelle duo and i had a proper period just before starting it. This didn't work so tried eostrogen patch and utrogestan yuk!!! Made me ill was told i am progesterone intolerant. Then lastly feb 2017 evorel sequi this works well but first 4 months bleed round about 7th patch light but lots of pain. Then 3 months ago I started peeing all the time was constipated and suffered with severe fatigue. This has all eased but also last 3 months no period just watery when you wipe no need for panty liner. Just pale brown pink spot when you wipe. This month 2 days late bright pink watery when wipe then nothing. I have had small pain right ovary and pinching which has woken me during night ligjt calf cramps. Doctor tested me for ovarian cancer neg my urine for uti clear a smear and other tests for infection. All clear. So what is happening anybody any ideas? I dont use contraception at 49 on hrt I presumed I dont need to. My husband is a lot younger he does not want children I am okay either way but I told him from start I was eggless!

Hi there I'm not sure what you are using now- sequi or continuous?

Then lastly feb 2017 evorel sequi this works well but first 4 months bleed round about 7th patch light but lots of pain.

What do you mean by '7th patch'? Where does that fit in a month?

If you are on a sequi regime, then you should get a regular bleed roughly once a month. If it's a conti regime, no bleed but maybe some irregular bleeding during the first 6 months.
Some women don't bleed at all on sequi or just very lightly. Is that was is happening? I'm not clear if you are bleeding all the time or at the end of each month.

You are still considered fertile until you have had 2 years with no natural periods. From what you have said, with a period in 2016, you are not yet at the stage to stop contraception. Being on HRT makes no difference either way. Many women pop out a few last eggs in the months leading up to menopause so you need to use contraception.

Go and see your GP and talk about what's going on?

Firstly thank you for your reply. I am on evorel sequi 50 patches 4 estrogen 4 with progesterone so I bled for first 4 months around day 24. Its only last 3 months I have had this spotting and it was round about when I would be due. It only lasts literally for a spot when wiping and next day nothing but this time it was bright pink then next toilet visit nothing. No red blood at all or dark red only beige brown pink even orange water when wiping. I have been back to my gp on numerous occasions even tried different doctors even asked to be referred to a gyno and I am talking a visit every 2 weeks but they have done most tests i have also had scans but that was back in november 2016

if you are spotting at the end of a cycle then that would be normal.
If you are spotting at other times your GP should arrange a pelvic scan for you- insist on this unless it's been done.

Have you put weight on? TBh it looks a bit like typical menopausal weight gain which can sit all around the middle. :(

Hi no I lost 46lb but gained 10lb since Hrt getting married etc now I am a uk size 14 16 but when I am bloated I can go up to a size 20 easily. In a morning I am lovely and slim lol

And because I had ultrasounds in November 2016 of abdomen womb bladder etc they wont repeat or do xrays because they said it has all been done already. If I had spotted from the start of sequi I would not be worried but to have 4 normal bleeds with pain and then go to 3 with no pain and watery spot with weird colours this concerns me but maybe I should just leave it? Maybe next month I will get nothing at all. But I thought taking the progesterone shed the lining I dont want it to build up Confused

I think I would press for another scan as it's almost a year ago.

It might reassure you to know that around 10- 20% of women do not bleed on sequi. But it might help to have another scan. You can do this privately if you can afford it and your GP refuses. Cost varies but it's from around £100 upwards.

If it's not the HRT your dr ought to refer you to a gastroenterologist because that amount of bloating is not normal. You need to go back and ask.

PollyPerky · 12/08/2017 20:04

:) that's okay- can see you are worried.

I sound very unfit I know but the last part I must explain I started with gastric problems 6 years ago when I started missing my periods although they could not get the camera down successfully I have been diagnosed with Gerd and I have been taking Lanzaprazole for 6 years now. But this was for acid I had started vomitting too. I still get nausea and when I wake from sleep I can taste the acid in my mouth. Yuk I know. I dont have milk any more not for 10 years+ and only brown bread minimal 2 slice per day. I will keep at my Gp but can afford private but they have to refer me so it will be quite awkward but I DO keep going back until they do something. Thank you Smile
