Hello,
Hoping you can help me!? My doctor just ran blood texts and advised I am going through menopause as my FSH was 100. She was really vague and just wrote me a prescription for HRT. My last period was 6 months ago and I am not on contraception. She was really not forthcoming on information! My questions are : can I still fall pregnant if taking HRT and does that mean I know get a period every month? She said I need to take it until I am 50?? So confused. If I am not having symptoms besides 2 periods a year and yes - irritable/moody does that mean I am still menopausal? My mum didn't go through menopause until she was 51. I thought I would be the same? Thank you I just don't know what is happening to me!? Sasha

You need to assume that you can still get pregnant, HRT can restore fertility (for a little while).

Under 50 and you need contraception until two years with no periods.

As it sounds as though your doctor has not explained things well, you might find it useful to have a browse through this site:
