Have mirena coil fitted 2014, no bleeds with coil but have had one previously and didn't bleed then either. Have been going through menopause since 2016 with hindsight it's obvious but I didn't really see it, sweats, flushes, anxiety, depression, libido unaffected though thank goodness.
Was prescribed AD's a few months ago but stopped taking them after 3 days of hell and decided to try more life-style changes to cope with the awful stress in work which I thought was the problem. Have seen GP and been prescribed Elleste Solo 1mg. Just taken the fourth tablet, no change yet. What effects can I hope for and how soon?

Oh goodness! The 'rule' is any HRT should be given 3 months to see the full benefits. It's not like a pain killer that works almost immediately. Give it a few weeks at least.

Thanks - have seen a few posts saying days, thought it was too good to be true. Starting new post for my employer in 2 weeks, was really hoping to be back to being a fully functioning woman again. Struggle with energy levels and the rest.

Must be patient.

I've been taking it for over a year and I feel good most of the time.Have had a full hysterectomy so needed it.
Was on 1 mg and have increased to 1.5 and may go up to 2mg as I don't think it is enough as I have periods of headaches and feeling a bit weird. No aches and pains and sweats anymore and I feel like I have lots of energy most of the time. Sometimes my energy levels drop and I feel a bit rubbish. Not sure if this is cos I need to increase dose. My GP says some younger women on HRT (I'm 44) take 4 mg a day!!

Also, my skin was great initially but I gave quite a few red spots around my jawline now which flare up and down.

Give it 4 months I'd say, and we'd how you feel.

I'm temped to go to a private menopausal clinic but it is £220 for an initial consultation Shock
