Missed 2 periods - no other symptoms, not pregnant - is this it?

I'm 46 and embarrassed to say that I clearly know nothing about the menopause. As above I've skipped two periods but no other symptoms at all, not pregnant as used contraceptives on rare occasions of dtd and I suffered dreadful morning sickness straight away with both pregnancies so can't be that. I came off the pill maybe 7-8 months ago and periods were scary for 2-3 months then settled down nicely, now this. Am NC with my dm so no real family history and she had hysterectomy in her late 30's anyway, due to horrendous periods, so not much use anyway. Should I be worried? Confused

I'm in the same boat.6 months of very irregular cycle and now 1 officially missed period - nearly 2. I feel like I should be doing something, but I'm not sure what.

Not having a period is disorientating. Having been plagued by awful, but fairly predictable periods for the last 25 years, and having looked forward to the day they stopped, I now feel a bit lost without them.

I would do a pregnancy test just to make sure though. I fell pregnant last year at 46 - absolutely no symptoms. I subsequently miscarried (presume it wasn't viable), but this was after years of infertility. It was all a bit of a shock and difficult to deal with.

Thanks Dean (love that username btw used to be a massive fan of his) I've now missed 3 and did a POAS test today which was negative, no other symptoms whatsoever Confused not sure if I should see my gp or not, really weird......

Hi I'm 46 and my mum reckoned she finished her periods overnight with no other symptoms. I've had some irregularities in my period but I'm late by 6 days and wondering if this I'd it. Done 2 tests and both negative. I know I've been peri menopausal due to having ivf at 36 and 38 due to my hormone tests. I'm kind of hoping this is it! My friend stopped at 42 but has a family history of early menopause.

Hi I am 45. No periods for the last 2 months, I had tests last year they came back perimenopausal so I knew I was heading for the menopause. Was expecting to have a period whilst on holiday, but nothing. I am waiting to be hit with a very heavy one, it is worrying. I have had years of endometriosis, heavy periods, etc, to be period free is something I have wished for but now its happening I feel lost.
