Broken sleep post menopause

I'm a year or two post menopause and through the worst now I think. The only thing left is broken sleep. I can go off to sleep at night about 11pm and sleep like a baby for 4 hours or so with no problem but am always awake around 3-4am and it takes an hour or so to get back to sleep. Not a huge problem at weekends but a real pain when I need to get up for work at 5.30am. Doesn't matter if I exercise, stay up later, drink, don't drink, avoid caffeine - it's still the same.

Is this something I'm just going to have to put up with or is there a solution?

In a word or three- HRT.

Insomnia is one of the key symptoms. You may find it gets worse as your estrogen levels fall off further.

Why suffer if you don't have to?

HRT!

Sympathies, Damek. I've had this for as long as I can remember & I haven't even gone thru menopause yet (!). I have learnt to cope but I suppose we're at hugely raised risk for dementia later. Meh.
