Missing a month of Provera.....

Had a search around and can't seem to find anything on this. I've been on HRT for about a year now ( estrogel daily and Provera 7 days a month). The provera produces the bleed that helps to clear out the womb. You prob all know that! Anyway, if I wanted to miss a month does anyone know if it would 'matter'? The bleed is actually as bad as my old-life periods and I have so many things on next month could do without it. Don't have a GP to ask as treatment prescribed privately and his office is hopeless at answering questions. Thinlk they just want people to go i and spend £££ instead.

Yes you can miss a month. Some women are on long cycle HRT anyway all the time, which means they have cycles of between 6-8 weeks all the time. There is even a 3-monthly HRT called Tridestra which gives a period once every 3 months. However- you should not do this often without medical supervision, because women who are using long cycle often have pelvic scans (privately) to check the lining is not building up.

Thanks for responding so quickly, PollyPerky. I wonder if when I resume the dose it will be a gigantic bleed!!
I shall enquire of Tridestra. After doing a search I fear the Prof I saw is a 'one prescription suits all' pony Hmm.
