bleeding for a long period

I had not had a period in 8 months until 21 days ago.. When It started it was mostly spotting and I didn't think a lot of it as I have read this is pretty common. However I haven't stopped bleeding and it is fresh blood. It is not a lot I need a panti liner and change it perhaps twice during the day.. However I realised today that it is 21 days and that is actually quite a long time. Is this still within the realms of normality or do I need to see my GP?

Will just add I have recently been put on high blood pressure medicine but bleeding is not mentioned as a side risk..

Hi Enka

This doesn't sound normal although I am not a health professional but if I was bleeding for 3 weeks with fresh blood I would be concerned. Definitely make an app to see your GP and let us know how you get on xx

If you only need a panty liner this would be classed as 'spotting'. It's very common in peri due to erratic hormone levels. I think you should see your GP but only to check everything else is ok.
