Bleeding for three months

Hi - I've had a "period"" since February. It's not particularly heavy and I've had three breaks - at most bleed free for three days. I've been to the doctor once and tried ibuprofen then tranexamic acid. I used tranexamic acid for five days and stopped as I wasn't sure how long I could take it and the bleeding only halted when I stopped the medication- stopping the bleed for three days - but began again. I've another doctor appointment in two weeks and getting a scan. Any advice please- has this happened to anyone else? It's not something i would discuss with friends.

Yes - turned out to be a large fibroid. I'm 56 so everyone's assuming it's on top of perimenopause / menopause. Anyway, after lots of scans and hysteroscopies, it's coming out soon, via Myosure procedure.

Where are you in terms of perimenopause etc?

Hi I am 50 so assume it is a menopausal thing. I was scanned last year for a fibroid and there was nothing. It's possible I guess that something has grown in a year. Can I ask, does transexemic acid help when there is a fibroid? It didn't seem to stop bleeding when I took it but I'd like o stop the bleeding

I've never been prescribed it. Offered a Mirena but didn't want one.

I think getting the scan is a good idea, to rule out anomalies. It could just be that little rollercoaster of perimenopause.

Thank you- sounds like I just need to get through this little phase!
