Ladies - I was asked recently to write a guest article on the most dramatic event of my life which resulted in what I now know is the Great Death in Zen Buddhism. I was 55 when the cataclysmic process started. My entire self disappeared and has never returned. In other words, the sense of me has vanished forever.
Yoga physiology states that at the time of the change of life, the energetic portals that support procreation close, and the energy turns 180deg and then flows upstream... In future books, I will be exploring this deeply because I know (red capital letters, 78 font) that many women throughout the ages may well have had a profound spiritual awakening where they and their worlds were completely annihilated as they approach the menopause, but because there is no literature at all on this, they have been relegated to the back benches as gibbering fools.
Many marriages will have been dissolved and children/relatives left non-plussed as the mother/wife etc., completely disintegrates. As I had no signs of hormonal change at all, I did not realise what was happening as I went through the Great Death, but I cannot exclude the energetic and physiological effects of hormone change. I have found this reference to hormonal change only 3 times in entire spiritual literature.
Please, if I can be of any assistance, let me know. I now feel able to talk about what happened 5 years ago and the spiritual community is also showing interest too.
