Anyone taking Clonidine?

I am 46. Periods stopped mid-Dec after a few erratic months. I had chemo ten years ago and it has caused an early, intense menopause.

I have 8 or so hot flushes a day coupled with several hot sweats at night. I am tired and lack energy! I have also had a few aura migraines, which I have never had before.

I work in a school so these symptoms are difficult to manage.

I have been prescribed Clonidine. Anyone else using it?

My friend was prescribed it for hot flushes. It really helped her, reduced from about ten an hour to a couple a day. She still can't sleep though, and feels weird if she has a drink with it . On balance though the absence of hot flushes wins!

She can't take HRT.

Ooh that sounds good!

I may be able to take HRT, they are waiting to hear from my cancer consultant.

I'm not sure what HRT will give me over the Clonidine, though.

She gets a v dry mouth from the clonodine and misses having a drink. I'm on HRT and have fewer night sweats than I did and few hot flushes.
