Does fasting/5:2 work when you're in meno?

I'm trying to shift 10lbs that i've put on over the last year when my periods have stopped. i've just started HRT. I've read that fasting when your homones are out of balance can send cortisol rocketing which just clings to fat. But elsewhere, I've read the meno women have had success with 5:2.

Any thoughts?

If you reduce your calories by 3500 in a week which is roughly what 2 days @ 500 cals would do, you should lose weight.

And if you are using HRT your hormones won't be out of balance.
