I last had a period last July and before that it was Christmas 2015.

I have had some hot flushes but these seem to have subsided.

My hair has thinned and I have vaginal dryness. My libido is pretty shit.

Am I at the end of it all do you think? When can I say I am through the menopause?

I had some blood tests a few months ago but I don't know the results ... I assumed the GP would contact me if they were abnormal.

I am 48 and a half

You can say you are 'in menopause' 12 months after your last period. Depending on side effects, I think then is the time some women start to discuss HRT or alternative options!

Menopause is 12 months after a final period and lasts for the rest of your life. (Menopause means literally 'no periods'.) HRT can be started at any time during peri menopause (ie age 40 something) and can be taken indefinitely to relieve symptoms.
