At 44, no periods for 3 years, psh level of 55 I am confurmed and menopausal. My doctor reluctantly prescribed me 3 months of Femoston today. Are there any side effects I should be overly concerned about? I don't have many physical symptons of menopause but am very emotional and grumpy and hoping HRT will help a bit of me to come back.

Not sure why your dr was 'reluctant'!

HRT is the advised treatment by NICE for women with a premature menopause- classed as before 45. You ought to have had HRT 3 years ago- up to the age of 52 ( average age of menopause.)

This is to protect your bones and heart longer term.

If your GP is so ignorant, change to another one or ask for a referral to a specialist who can help you.

I'd not go looking for side effects- everyone is different. Wait and see :)

I've just started femeston after trying a few different types HRTs.

It's helped with anxiety and hot flushes and I feel more me again. I also take Agnus Castus which seems to help with grumpiness and moodiness.

I'm still really down - but I'm starting to think that is depression rather than menopause!

Hi all I'm 3mths on femoston conti 1mg/5mg I'm 39 and started menopause over 1 year ago with no periods for over a year. Things were great after starting but I've been bleeding every month like a normal cycle, this month I'm more concerned as it's not stopped 8 days in, proper bleeding.
When I went for my 3 mth review my dr said it's probably because you're young enough for it to make a regular cycle! I haven't read to much on the different tablets (I didn't want to start hrt) and I didn't know there was different does of fc ,my issue is I may of missed a few tablets and I have started taking them at different times, could this be the cause?
I'm also not feeling as sparkly as I have done on them , I'm reluctant to start changing tablets atm, I've got ovarian cysts so not sure if this is the problem!?
Should I be asking the drs about a different type or get a new blood test to see how my levels are?
Any advice would be great, so glad I found this group

I am not sure why your dr suggested Femoston Conti. I think that it will be better a seq type for you. You are still at peri and I guess that a cyclical type will suit you better.
